Wastewater Treatment Systems Federal Regulations
If you’re performing chromating or phosphating, electroplating, electrolyses plating, anodizing, milling/etching or PCB manufacturing, you’re regulated under CFR 40, Part 433, Metal Finishing Point Source Category. Maximum discharge standards apply at the federal level for 13 different effluents. States, counties, and municipalities impose additional layers of requirements, and most states also require a permit to install wastewater pre-treatment.
For many companies, the most cost-effective, long-term strategy for achieving, maintaining and providing compliance is to select a system vendor with in-depth knowledge of your finishing operation - and in-depth experience to make it perform to specification from the day of start-up.
